Read with the manuscript reference in view

The Konya project organises its material into thirty-seven manuscript volumes, each with its own reference and project page. The earlier introduction describes the history and organisation of the manuscript and presents the project’s comparisons with the printed Cairo edition.

The page reader presents Arabic digital text distributed approximately across Konya manuscript pages. This alignment is part of the description of the resource; it does not certify a word-by-word transcription checked against every manuscript image. Consult the available image and page information when investigating a reading or making an exact reference.

The individual volume pages retain their existing project descriptions, publication information and availability notices. They may contain Arabic or English material, depending on the work available for that volume. The page reader in this section presents the Arabic source with the selected navigation language.

Using the manuscript reference

  1. Choose a volume to open its existing project page, or follow the reading link to its starting point in the Arabic page reader.
  2. Distinguish the manuscript’s volume and page from the printed edition’s volume and page. Use the concordance to move between these reference systems.
  3. When documenting a reading, identify the material consulted: manuscript image, digital text aligned to its pagination, or an explanation supplied by the project.
